Te Whare Āhuru is a Ngāti Rangi community-led housing initiative supporting the wellbeing of whānau as a collective through a whānau ora approach.
Established in 2015 under Ngāti Rangi Trust and the wider Ruapehu Whānau Transformation framework, our mission is simple: to ensure whānau within the Ngāti Rangi rohe have access to healthy, warm, and safe homes.
Housing is the foundation for strong, thriving whānau. We are committed to creating safe, warm homes and supporting whānau to achieve their housing aspirations.
Our mahi is guided by He Pā Tū He Pā Ora housing rautaki (2023) and continues to be shaped by the voices of our people.

Orōnaki Kāinga
Orōnaki Kāinga was the first housing development from Ngāti Rangi, completed in 2024. The four three-bedroom whare have become affordable rental properties for whānau, addressing the lack of affordable healthy homes in the rohe.
