The Whānau Manahou service works with individuals and whānau to support the realisation of whānau aspirations.
It is a strength based whānau ora approach that uses Mātauranga Māori and exploration of identity and whakapapa as a platform for healing and recovery from trauma to move from a place of surviving, to thriving.
Supports include but are not limited to:
- Legal support (criminal and family court)
- Hauora support (rongoā, wairua, health and wellbeing)
- Self-discovery (exploring our stories and rewriting them from a place of Ora)
- Wānanga facilitation/delivery (whānau mediation, strategies to enhance communication and awareness)
Seasonally larger kaupapa are run under the umbrella of Whānau Manahou, in the past this has included;
- She is not your rehab
- Oro Atua
- Manawa Ora community clinic
- EVOLVE
These kaupapa are run based on community demand and committment coupled with the availibility of appropriate funding.
