The Pae Whakahamaru team run a successful pest, plant and weed control programme in Rangatauanui, Rongokaupo Repo, Ngamatea Swamp and the Rangataua Forest and also maintain the access tracks.

Within the Karioi Rahui, the Pae Whakahaumaru team services over 1,200 traps a mix between DOC 200's and DOC 250's.

The team has been targeting animal and plant pests for the last three years, and frequently exceeding their targets in weeds control, rats, possums and mustelids over approximately 14,000 hectares.
