Ngāti Rangi provides Tamariki Ora services, offering free well-child checks, health assessments, and information for whānau with tamariki from birth to five years old. Our goal is to support tamariki to grow to their fullest potential and reduce health inequalities.
Tamariki Ora is a core service of our Whakangā Hauora team, supporting pēpi registered with Ngāti Rangi and those who identify as Māori. The programme includes a series of health visits from around six weeks to five years of age, starting with a Well Child Tamariki Ora nurse check at 4–6 weeks old.
Visits cover:
✅ Child growth and development
✅ Family health and wellbeing
✅ Immunisation information
✅ Oral health (teeth and gum) checks
✅ Early childhood education
✅ Vision and hearing checks
✅ School readiness health checks
Our kaiārahi help whānau attend appointments, assist with B4 School Checks and childhood immunisations, and provide advocacy for any other health-related needs.
