NOTICE OF ELECTION OF TRUSTEES
CALLING FOR NOMINATIONS
Notice is given that an election will be held on Tuesday 26 November 2024 for five (5) Trustees of Te Tōtarahoe o Paerangi (Ngāti Rangi Iwi). The election will be held by postal and online voting.
NOMINATIONS
Nominations for the five (5) positions open Monday 26 August 2024 and close 12 noon Friday 20 September 2024.
Each candidate must, as at the closing date for nominations (12 noon, Friday 20 September 2024) be registered members of Ngāti Rangi; aged 18 years or over, and be nominated by not less than three (3) Adult Registered Members.
Nominations must be in writing, and made on a nomination paper available from Monday 26 August 2024:

Under the Te Tōtarahoe o Paerangi Deed of Trust, an Adult Registered Member of Ngāti Rangi shall not be eligible for nomination as a candidate for election as a Trustee if he or she:
- is bankrupt or has within the last five (5) years been adjudged bankrupt; or
- is or has ever been convicted of:
- an offence punishable by two (2) or more years imprisonment, or
- an offence involving dishonesty as defined in section 2(1) of the Crimes Act 1961, or
- an offence under section 373(4) of the Companies Act 1993 (unless that person is an eligible individual for the purposes of the Criminal Records (Clean Slate) Act 2004); or
- is or has ever been disqualified from being a director of a company registered under the Companies Act 1993 or the Companies Act 1993; or
- is subject to a compulsory treatment order under the Mental Health (Compulsory Treatment and Assessment) Act 1992 or is subject to a property order made under section 30 or section 31 of the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988; or
- has within the last four (4) years been removed from the office of Trustee in accordance with clause 23 of the Te Tōtarahoe o Paerangi Iwi Deed of Trust or rule 13 of the Second Schedule of that Deed of Trust.
Nominations must be in writing and received by the Returning Officer no later than 12 noon, Friday 20 September 2024.
Retiring Trustees are eligible for re-election.

Te Tōtarahoe o Paerangi Trust invites qualified persons aged 18 years or over, who have not already registered, to apply for inclusion on the Ngāti Rangi Register. Registration can be performed online here or by emailing the Trust on: office@ngatirangi.com.
