Kua tahia te tau tawhito, te tū nei tātau i te tau hou. Tēnei te pō, nau mai te ao!

Ngāti Rangi Pou Ārahi (General Manager)

E te iwi, tēnā koutou, tēnā tātau.

Tēnei te whakamōhio atu ki a koutou, kei te heke iho tō tātau Pou Ārahi, ā Kemp Dryden, i tōna tūranga.

Kemp has chosen to conclude his time in the role of Pou Ārahi (General Manager) for Ngāti Rangi Trust.  Kemp began in the role in 2016 and has been integral in the organisation’s success over this time including significant progress in our journey towards settlement.  Having already held many positions on behalf of Ngāti Rangi, for Kemp himself it was a true honour to be appointed to the position.

Kemp takes comfort in leaving the Trust as we are in a good position moving toward achieving the outcomes in Te Ara ki te Moungaroa – success and vibrancy for Ngāti Rangi.

We acknowledge Kemp for his leadership and passion which has led to a stronger and vibrant Ngāti Rangi. We also acknowledge Nicole; and Kemp’s wider whānau who have supported both him and the tribe during this time.  We will be formally acknowledging Kemp and his whānau in due course.

Kemp will be finishing with the Trust at the end of March. A recruitment process will commence shortly.

Tēnei te iwi e mihi kau atu ana ki a koe Kemp, mōu i whakapau kaha, werawera hoki mō te iwi. Ka whakanui hei te otinga o tōna mahi.

2019 wallplanner is on our website!

We are pleased to release the Ngāti Rangi 2019 calendar to the iwi! We have all our hui dates on there; including the wānanga which we will be running throughout the year.

One point of interest is to remember that at each Te Kāhui o Paerangi (Ngāti Rangi rūnanga) hui, there is a wānanga on the night before. Elijah in the office will send out information about these wānanga and the Te Kāhui meetings in due course.

To access the calendar please click here. Limited hard copies are available at the office but we will be sending copies to marae and kaumātua.

Please note:

The Te Tōtarahoe o Paerangi Trust Deed provides that Te Kahui will be responsible for the appointment of candidates to two trustee positions. One of the two Te Kahui trustee appointments to Te Tōtarahoe o Paerangi will be the appointed Chair of Te Kahui.

It is anticipated that the first two Te Kāhui trustee appointments to Te Tōtarahoe o Paerangi will be made in 2020. It is therefore expected that the Te Kāhui o Paerangi Chair appointed at the 17 February 2019 hui will become a trustee of Te Tōtarahoe o Paerangi at their Hui-ā-Tau in 2020.

There are a number of eligibility requirements for trustees of Te Tōtarahoe o Paerangi set out in their Deed.  The appointed Chair of Te Kāhui must meet these requirements in order to be appointed as a trustee.

What has Te Pae Tata been up to?

Ruapehu College teachers came into Te Pae Tata on Monday 28th Jan for a 2 hour PD session on Technology within teaching and a play on our latest VR equipment that can be used in the classroom to supplement other delivery methods.

The teachers are excited to perhaps get more involved in Te Pae Tata and utilise our awesome facilities and technology for their students.

Ngāti Rangi host Tenzing whānau

We were priveledged this week to host  Mr. Norbu Tenzing, a son to the famed Sherpa, Tenzing Norgay who climbed Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953. Mr Tenzing visited Te Tairāwhiti, Aoraki, Te Kāhui Maunga, Te Awa Tupua and finally Taranaki Maunga.
