Ngāti Rangi announces new rental whare for uri

Ngāti Rangi is excited to announce the development of four new three-bedroom whare to be offered to whanau as affordable rental properties!

Orōnaki (of Ronaki, a tupuna of the Rangataua block) is the name given to the four new whare being built on Foyle Street, Ohakune developed by our commercial arm, Te Kūmete o Paerangi.

What makes Orōnaki even more special is our commitment to supporting our whānau through Ka Uruora rental rebates.

Eligible members will enjoy rental discounts, averaging 20% off the market rent depending on household incomes.

These whare will help to support whānau in meeting their housing aspirations, particularly those whānau where there is currently no support available to them.

They will be Homestar 6 rated homes, fully insulated to a higher level than required within the Building Code along with double glazed windows. Each house will be heated with a 7.1kw heat pump in the lounge, a bathroom heater and wall panel heaters in each of the bedrooms. There is a kitchen extractor fan and a fan in the bathroom. Each of the houses exceeds the current Building Code healthy homes provisions.

Financial literacy programmes will be run in conjunction with Ka Uruora and are a key criteria for eligibility. Enrol now!

You can do the course over • over two consecutive days – 16/17 September, 9-3pm each day;

OR • over four sessions :  17 Sep 6-9pm  18 Sept 6-9pm (online);  23 Sept 6-9pm (online) and  25 Sept
