Honey could bring major benefits to iwi

The Manawatu/Whanganui growth study has just been released and says Manuka Honey could bring major benefits to the region.
Speaking at the report launch in Palmerston North, Ngāti Rangi chair Kemp Dryden said iwi had identified the honey as one of four key opportunities that could benefit the area's Maori.
"Maori play a considerable role in the region's economy.
"There are four opportunities iwi see themselves supporting and being instantly involved in, the sheep and beef opportunity, tourism, manuka honey and also the opportunities for under-utilised Maori land.
"There is a real buzz of excitement amongst our people around the honey industry," he said.
