An exciting 'Ruapehu house' project for Ruapehu Whānau Transformation and RDC

The Ruapehu Whānau Transformation [RWT] team and Ruapehu District Council have engaged with the southerners as part of a project to design and build a ‘Ruapehu house’ later in the year. RWT implementation manager Erena Mikaere said most said the project’s focus is to find environmental, sustainable solutions for the region.
“The rural Ruapehu area has many economic challenges including the lack of affordable, healthy, comfortable housing while keeping a families health and safety at the forefront of their thinking.
“The district’s un-insulated homes are contributing to health and socioeconomic issues.”

There is a public meeting to hear all about the project being held this Wednesday in the Ruapehu District Council chambers at 5.30pm.
